Hi there! I’m Nicolas—Nico to most, and I’m the adventurer behind this blog.

From as far as I can recall, I have always been an inquisitive soul. This inner drive has always pushed me to seek out authentic adventures, venture far beyond the familiar, and explore well outside my comfort zone with an insatiable eagerness to learn about the world.

I was born and raised in a town in rural Argentina. By the age of 4, I had learned to read, and my childhood was filled with classics like Around the World in Eighty Days, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Moby-Dick, among many others. These tales didn’t just entertain me; they lit a fire for discovery and a yearning to craft my own adventures.

That spark turned into reality in 2012 when I moved to the big city, Buenos Aires to study Political Science and then in 2013, I took my first international trip to Rio de Janeiro. That journey marked the beginning of a lifelong love for travel. Since then, I’ve been exploring on and off, seeking out hidden corners of the world, immersing myself in local cultures, and venturing down roads less travelled.

These days, I’m lucky enough to call Australia home, living with my partner Eden on our own slice of paradise on a sunny Queensland island. While home grounds me, my inquisitive spirit keeps me chasing new adventures, both near and far, to share with you.

So what is Inquisitive Spirit?

Inquisitive Spirit isn’t your typical travel blog. It’s a philosophy—a mindset that values curiosity, openness, and the drive to explore deeply. It’s about uncovering the essence of a place, connecting with its people, and learning its stories.

A traveller with an inquisitive spirit doesn’t rush to tick landmarks off a list. They linger. They ask questions. They go where most don’t. They hike the long trail to the glacier rather than the quick walk to the lookout. They join the local festival instead of watching from the sidelines. They connect with people and places in a way that leaves them changed.

This blog caters to travellers who want to get their hands (and boots) dirty exploring, while also learning about the essence of the places they visit.
